- We kicked off the month of March with the Talent show, hosted by PLAC.
- Unusual Suspects performed in auditorium.
- PLAC (our Parent Leadership Action Committee) held their meetings collectively over the last two months to plan the talent show and discuss future events.
- Our students read with therapy dogs: Lance, Hazel, and Jupiter.
- Parent teacher conferences were held.
- Saturday School provided additional support to over 100 students (on average). It is an ongoing program available for students to receive supplemental support in reading, writing, and math.
- Kindergarten began their ELPAC testing.
- School administrators attended a meeting with LAPD Chief Michael Moore to talk about community safety.
- 5th graders had their physical fitness test.
- 5th grade parents attended a 5th grade Growth and Development Parent Video viewing.
- Chef Barrios has a cooking class for 6th graders.
- We had our annual STEAM day. Los Angeles Department of Water & Power came to teach students about safety. Teachers held their own activities in class. Our STEAM teachers and librarian had fun activities planned for students throughout the day.
- 2nd grade started their OLSAT
- Grades 2nd-6th had their IReady tests.
- Kinder had their open house
- 5th grade student went on a field trip to California State University Northridge.
- School was closed for Spring Break.
- Colgate Kids Community Dental visited Pre-K and 3rd grade classrooms.
Field Trips
- Kindergarten students went on a field trip to our local fire station.
- Mr. Millan took selected students on a field trip to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
- Ms. Avelar, Ms. Herring, and Ms. Valle’s students went to the Kid Space Museum.
- Ms. Tilghman, Ms. Ruvalcaba, and Ms. Quesada went to the LA Natural Museum
- Ms. Rabuco, Ms. Battams, and Ms. Alam’s students went to the California Science Center.
